Ballots for the General Election will be placed in the US Mail on October 31, 2023.  Please click here to a sample of the ballot you will receive.

Every Virgin resident will cast two votes in Virgin's Municipal election.  The top two winners will serve terms on Virgin Town Council ending in December 2027/January 2028.

Every Virgin resident will cast a single vote in the election to replace Congressman Christopher Stewart.  The winner of that election will finish out the remainder of Congressman Chris Stewart's term which ends in December 2024.

Candidate Information

The following residents have declared their candidacy for one of two, four-year Council seats.  A Primary Election will be held Tuesday September 5, 2023.  Remaining candidates will then move on to the General Election held on Tuesday November 21, 2023.

Sample Ballots

Ballots will be placed in the US Mail on August 15, 2023.  Virgin residents will receive one of the following two ballots:

If you are a registered Republican, you will receive this ballot so that in addition to the Virgin Town Council Election, you can also cast your vote in the Republican primary to choose the Republican candidate in the election to replace Congressman Christopher Stewart.

If you are NOT a registered Republican, you will receive this ballot so that you can cast your vote in the primary for the 2023 Virgin Town Council Election.

2023 Election Candidate Information

Virgin Town has two (2) Town Council positions to be voted on.  Each position is for a four (4) year term (Jan 2024-Dec. 2027). 

The qualifications to be a candidate are:

  1. Be a registered voter in Virgin Town;
  2. Be a resident of Virgin Town for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election;
  3. Maintain a principal place of residence within Virgin Town during the term of office; and
  4. Not be convicted of a felony. 

All candidates for election are subject to Campaign Finance Disclosure regulations. 

If you are interested in being a candidate and meet these qualifications, you may fill out a Declaration of Candidacy form, in person, with the Virgin Town Clerk/Recorder, during the candidacy filing period, which is Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. through  Wednesday, June 7, 2023 by 5:00 p.m., excluding the weekend.  Declaration of Candidacy packets will not be available until the start of the declaration period and cannot be submitted prior to, or after, the filing period.  

If there are five (5) or more candidacy filings for the City Council positions, a Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.  The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.  The Municipal Elections will be Vote-by-Mail and Virgin Town Hall will be a Ballot Assistance Center where you may drop off your ballot during regular office hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Any in-person voting on Election Day will be held at the Dixie Convention Center 1835 Convention Center Dr. St George UT.  Polls open at 7am and close at 8pm on Election Day.

The Vote Center will have an electronic voting machine available to assist voters with sight or mobility issues. An individual with a disability who is not able to vote a manual ballot by mail may obtain information on voting in an accessible manner from the county’s website, www.washco.utah.gov/departments/clerk-auditor/election-info or by contacting the county clerk @ 435-986-3399 or send an email to elections@utah.gov.
