Planning Commission

Overview

The Planning Commission consists of five members appointed by the Town Council. Members must be residents of the Virgin.

Members are appointed for four-year terms and are subject to the town's Conflict of Interest Code. Members receive $300 as compensation for attendance at all duly held meetings.

Responsibilities

The commission:

• Serves as an advisory body to the Town Council on land use matters, including review of development plans for consistency with the General Plan, Zoning Ordinances, Subdivision Ordinance, and Sign Ordinance.
• Reviews Special Permits, Conditional Use Permits and Variances.
• Other duties as required by state law
